Are You Rising Ready? Your Can’t Miss Skills Sessions at Workday’s Biggest Event

Welcome back to Skillcentrix’s Workday Rising Rundown. With just 18 days to go before over 15,000 people descend on the Moscone Center in San Francisco, it’s starting to get exciting! And we’re here to ensure you have everything you need to know for the Workday ecosystem’s largest event.

In our previous Rising Prep post, we discussed how to prepare your mind, body, and agenda for Workday Rising. Today, we’re all about the content. So let’s talk about what’s going on at Workday Rising.

Workday Rising is known for providing tons of content, exhibiting exciting vendors and Workday partners, announcing roadmap plans, and hosting a lot of fun entertainment. Here’s what we are most looking forward to taking in, being a part of, and learning about.

Tuesday Rising Happenings

Have you ever seen the movie, “Piranha II: The Spawning”? Me neither. And don’t bring it up to the Welcome Keynote speaker who directed it because he took his name off of the Directorial credit.

But maybe you’ve heard of “Avatar”, “The Terminator” and “Titanic”. Well, he directed those masterpieces too (see, we all start somewhere). Yes, James Cameron will be kicking Rising off by talking about his approach to filmmaking and views on the role of AI and other emerging technologies in the future of moviemaking. Movie buff or not, this is a must-see.

Following up the highest-grossing filmmaker of all time will be, well, some studs in their own right – Workday Co-CEOs, Angel Bhushri and Carl Eschenbach. You won’t need a calculator to be certain that this is the highest net worth dais of the week.

Following the Keynote is the Welcome Reception where you can begin carb-loading, schmoozing, and practicing your “Oh, that’s interesting – where’s your booth so I can come by this week?” tidbits.

[Where are we, you ask?? You can find us just to the right of Workday HR Solutions and Demos center, in booth #403.]

Once your socializing is finished, remember: Go to bed early. Don’t make that mistake.

Wednesday Rising Happenings

We’re in it now, baby. Time to take those business casual dress sneakers for a spin. It’s content time!

Let’s Shape How the Future Works, Together

Whether you’re in the office of CHRO, CIO or CFO, you don’t want to miss the Innovation Keynote: “Let’s Shape How the Future Works, Together”, which will set the stage for the week to come. Here, Workday Co-Founder, Co-CEO, and Chair Aneel Bhusri and other leaders will discuss how Workday can help you move with speed and agility to meet today’s business needs while preparing to drive how the future works tomorrow. Great stuff.

Building Workday’s Skills-Based Organization

Skills, Skills, Skills. Everyone’s got ‘em. Nobody knows how to make ‘em work. Well, besides us. And Workday too. Come hear how they do it- their tactics, challenges, and learnings – in the Workday on Workday session, “Building Workday’s Skills-Based Organization”.

Here, Workday Senior Principal, Josh Tarr, will discuss what it takes to create a skills-based talent strategy that benefits Workmates, managers, and leaders.

AI and Machine Learning: oCHRO Use Cases

If you liked what you heard from Terminator director, James Cameron, around AI, you’re gonna love seeing it in action.

No, this is not a Skynet demo. Thank God. HCM | Workday Consultant, Ashley Gomez will be starring in “AI and Machine Learning: oCHRO Use Cases”, demonstrating how AI and ML are used throughout the talent lifecycle to support organizations’ talent needs.

Session timeslot:11:45 AM – 12:15 PM PDT

Driving Innovation at Workday with AI and Machine Learning

If demos aren’t your thing and/or you still need to hear more about AI (and you’re fast on your feet – check the start time), check out “Driving Innovation at Workday with AI and Machine Learning” where Workday VP, Heather Gardner, will be discussing how Workday is leveraging AI and machine learning (ML) internally to optimize processes and prepare employees for the future of work.

This session shares use cases across finance, HR, and IT, and how to apply AI ethically to meet trust and workforce challenges.

Session timeslot: 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM PDT
